Over the summer of 2023, a series of cimmunity workshops explored the different ways in which we can use our senses to engage with Nature.

Artist Erika Cann joined us at ‘Celebrate Start Bay’ where she asked to imagine what objects might make the fossils of the future - both natural and manmade.

From these found objects we created cyanotypes with natural and man-made materials found washed ashore.

Erika Cann investigates place through historical and contemporary accounts, using guides and maps of an area. She navigates the environment through climbing and geologies and the tools and techniques of climbing shape her practice, which is primarily in film, photography and printmaking.
