You’re warmly invited to The Grief Gathering — a free, gentle evening for anyone who has experienced grief and would like to connect with others and explore creativity as a way to express and move through it.

Hosted at Harbour House, this event offers a calm, supportive space shared with people who understand what it means to grieve. There’s no expectation to talk about your loss or share personal details — simply come as you are.

What to expect:

  • Soothing breathing exercises to help you arrive and settle
  • A variety of simple, creative activities to explore at your own pace — writing, drawing, painting, moving, reading, and more (no experience needed!)
  • Time to enjoy light refreshments and connect with others — or take quiet time for yourself if that feels right

About the facilitator
The session will be led by Thrive’s Artistic Director, Sarah, who has been navigating her own journey with grief since losing her mother unexpectedly in January 2023. The Grief Gatherings grew out of her desire to create gentle spaces that refill the creative cup when it feels empty — blending collective support with simple, creative, and sensory practices.

This event is free, but booking is essential via eventbrite.

This gathering is open to anyone aged 13 and over (those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult).

Come as you are. There’s no right or wrong way to grieve — only a shared space to gently be.
