Six Weeks of Photography with Activities 115
Over the past few weeks, we’ve had the joy of working with Activities 115, a wonderful Kingsbridge charity that supports adults with learning disabilities and neurodiversities. Together, we ran a six-week photography project at Harbour House and Activities 115.
The project was split into two halves: three sessions of digital portrait photography with Dom Moore, and three sessions exploring film and outdoor photography with Ellie Robinson-Carter, supported throughout by our fantastic Assistant Producer, Jodie.
From the very first session, the atmosphere was playful and curious. Week by week, participants grew in confidence—directing photos, making creative choices, and experimenting with techniques like long exposure and cyanotypes.
There were countless memorable moments: the excitement of seeing prints come to life, the laughter and encouragement shared within the group, and the treasured objects participants brought along to photograph, which made the final artworks so personal and unique.
More than anything, the workshops became a space for connection, joy, and self-expression. It was inspiring to see how creativity can build confidence, spark friendships, and open up new ways of looking at the world.

The group poem made at the last session as a group, using words they all shared about their experience of the project:
We have been meeting in Kingsbridge,
Taking photos together
Walking, collaging, painting and collecting
In the beautiful, sunny weather
We have seen dogs, flowers, caterpillars and birds,
Passing around the camera, taking it in turns
Looking up to the hanging baskets, and down at our feet
It’s amazing all the people that you meet
We’ve felt happy, excited and a sense of joy,
Jonathan, John, Hollie, Thomas, Miguel and Roy
