At Harbour House, we believe in the transformative power of creativity and wellbeing. Based in the heart of Kingsbridge, South Devon, our centre is home to an inspiring programme of exhibitions, performances, classes and community-focused activities. As we grow and evolve, we're looking for a new Finance Manager to help us steward our resources and support our mission.

About the Role:

This is a part-time (0.4 FTE) position, offering £40K pro rata with flexible working arrangements to be agreed upon appointment. You’ll be based at Harbour House and within the local Kingsbridge community, working closely with our Director and CEO to manage the financial operations of the charity.

Responsibilities:

This is a key role within the organisation. You'll be responsible for:

  • Preparing budgets, forecasts, and management accounts
  • Overseeing financial controls, audits, and compliance
  • Line-managing our Bookkeeper

  • Advising the Director, Board, and senior staff on financial matters
  • Acting as Company Secretary and ensuring statutory compliance

You’ll play a vital part in ensuring that Harbour House continues to thrive — financially sustainable, transparent, and mission-aligned.

Who We’re Looking For:

You’ll be a qualified (or part-qualified) accountant with proven experience in financial management, preferably in the charity or arts sector. You’ll be comfortable juggling multiple responsibilities, working flexibly, and contributing proactively to a small, dedicated team.

Key skills include:

  • Experience producing detailed management accounts and forecasts
  • Knowledge of charity SORP and financial regulations
  • Confidence using financial software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, SAGE)
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and communication

Why Join Harbour House?

  • Flexible working options
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays (pro rata)
  • Generous pension scheme with The People’s Pension
  • A creative, inclusive workplace culture
  • The opportunity to make a difference in a community-focused organisation
