Community Workshop Round-Up – January 2026

January has been a joyful and inspiring start to the year at Harbour House. We were delighted to welcome 50 participants across six free workshops and events, working alongside four different community groups in the process.

Over the month, we collaborated with:

  • Year 4 students from Kingsbridge Community Primary School
  • Adults with learning disabilities and differences
  • Socially isolated adults
  • The women’s art group at Plymouth Racial Equality Council

We are proud to be delivering regular workshops for these groups and it’s a real privilege to see the same familiar faces returning each month. Watching confidence grow, friendships form, and creativity flourish over time is exactly why this work matters.

What We’ve Been Creating

Our January sessions offered a wide range of creative and wellbeing-focused activities, including:

  • Mindful Movement workshops designed to support wellbeing and encourage gentle, accessible physical expression
  • Mask and tapestry-making workshops, giving participants the opportunity to explore hands-on craft and storytelling
  • Choreography sessions for a stage theatre performance, building skills, confidence, and collaborative spirit

Each session created space for creativity, connection, and self-expression in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Participant Feedback

We’re always grateful to hear how the workshops impact those who attend. Here’s what some participants shared:

“Unforgettable experience.”
“Grateful for the safe and non-judgemental space.”

These reflections capture what we strive to create — inclusive spaces where everyone feels valued and able to take part fully.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us in February. Your energy, openness, and creativity make these workshops what they are.

Some of these workshops were generously supported by Arts Council England, whose funding helps us continue offering accessible creative opportunities within our community.
