Ekleido Brings Dance, Art, and Community Spirit to Kingsbridge Fair Week
Kingsbridge is set to come alive with creativity this Fair Week as choreographic duo Ekleido present an exciting programme of events, including a hands-on workshop, a dynamic live performance, and an exhibition in our gallery.
Get Creative: Lantern-Making Workshop (Week Before Fair Week)
Sat 11 July, 10am - 1pm
Quay Lane Studio
Kick off the celebrations by joining Ekleido for a unique, interactive workshop that blends paper lantern making with contemporary dance. Inspired by Rorschach ink blots and the artists’ wider practice, participants will explore playful mark-making alongside expressive movement in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Together, attendees will create handmade lanterns to be featured in Kingsbridge’s Fair Week lantern parade. Participants are warmly invited to take part in the parade itself, extending the creative experience into the heart of the community.
No prior experience is needed—just bring curiosity and creativity.
Live Performance of SPLICE, Kingsbridge Fair Week
Sat 18 July, 4:15pm - 4:30pm
Kingsbridge Town Square
On the first day of Fair Week, Ekleido will present their critically acclaimed work SPLICE. Performed by Hannah Ekholm and Faye Stoeser, the piece sees two dancers navigate a physical puzzle inspired by a human Rubik’s Cube. Blending contemporary dance with underground club styles, the performance is driven by an original score from world-renowned electronic musician Floating Points.
SPLICE promises a visually striking and high-energy experience that pushes the boundaries of movement and collaboration.
Exhibition Opening: A Living Archive of Movement
Sat 18 July, 10am - 5pm
Harbour House Ground Floor Gallery
Also launching on the first day of Fair Week, Ekleido’s exhibition offers a rare opportunity to explore the company’s work beyond the stage. This “living archive” brings together performance films, photography, community-created artworks, and props used in their productions.
At the heart of the exhibition is Ekleido’s exploration of movement as a form of communication. Their interdisciplinary practice spans dance, film, and visual art, examining how bodies can “draw” in space and express ideas without words.
Visitors are invited to engage with the work in an open and personal way—moving between stillness and motion, documentation and live experience. The exhibition transforms choreography into an immersive visual environment, encouraging audiences to look closely, reflect, and respond.

From making and moving to watching and reflecting, Ekleido’s programme offers something for everyone this Kingsbridge Fair Week.
