The exhibition Lilies and Illusions by Cornwall-based artist Ben Sanderson has come to a close, and what a journey it has been! From 23 August - 1 November 2025, visitors flocked to Harbour House Ground Floor Gallery, experiencing Sanderson’s distinctive artworks alongside the vibrant collaborative wall paintings created with young people during our summer workshops.
These workshops, run in partnership with Kingsbridge Foodbank and Kingsbridge Community Primary School, formed part of a wider community programme championing creative wellbeing and access to the arts for local families. The energy and imagination of these young artists brought an extra layer of magic to the exhibition, making it a truly immersive experience.
Now that the exhibition walls have been covered, we’ve ensured that as much of this beautiful project as possible has been documented. The archive captures both Ben’s solo works and the collaborative pieces, preserving the memory of this joyful and inspiring exhibition.
Explore the Archive on the exhibition page:
- Films by Naomi Frears: Two insightful films documenting the exhibition and its collaborative elements can be found on our website.
- In Conversation Recording: Hear the discussion between Ben Sanderson and Naomi Frears from Saturday 11 October, where they reflect on the exhibition and share personal insights into the creative process.
Lilies and Illusions celebrated art, community, and imagination. Though the walls have been covered, the archive ensures that this inspiring exhibition can be remembered, revisited, and shared with all who missed it.
