Jo March

Niki Hill

Friends and collaborators for many years, Jo March and Niki Hill present a collection of works in acrylics, oils, paper and words. Their work shares an interest in the mysterious and ethereal, inspired by intrigue, broken hearts and endless joy.

The inspiration for Jo March's paintings is often drawn from the environment and the people of her childhood in Cornwall. She has an abiding fascination with the eccentricities which exist just below the surface of rural life and in particular the characters whom she observed around her whilst growing up. Jo sees modern life gradually and inexorably eroding age-old patterns of life and systems of belief and her landscape paintings are a conscious attempt to capture something precious before it vanishes forever.
Jo is a self-taught artist with an established track record of exhibiting across her native Cornwall and as far afield as Suffolk, Kent and Shropshire.

Niki trained as a shoemaker before later studying Applied Arts at Plymouth College of Art twenty years ago. In addition to teaching she has exhibited from London and Surrey to the West Country.
