My name is Georgina and my practice is Empathica counselling and psychotherapy.
People see a counsellor for many reasons, not just that they are feeling there is a crisis. On having counselling some people say; “I don’t want someone telling me what to do”. Counselling is not someone telling you what to do, it is an opportunity to explore in confidence whatever is troubling you. The counselling relationship offers you time and space and is without judgment. Sometimes we just want somebody to talk to who is trained to listen, someone who is present and interested.
My training in integrative, I adapt the therapeutic approaches to work with the person as a whole using Person Centred Theory, Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
I have worked with adults and young people (16+) with a wide range of issues such as anxiety and relationship problems.
I am a member of the BACP and NCS and undertook my training at Heartwood in Dartington South Devon. I have complete my Level 4 Diploma and Level 5 in Psychotherapuetic Counselling. I also hold a Batchelor of Law (LLB) from Nottingham Trent University.
