Pastel Painting Weekend Workshops
with Keith Stott
7 & 8 September, 19 & 20 October, 9 & 10 November, 23 & 24 November
Art Studio, on the second floor
9.30 am - 3.30 pm (November - March)
10 am - 4 pm (April - October)
The Weekend Workshops mean that you can have a more relaxed approach to your painting, without the pressure of feeling you have to do as much as possible in one day. You go home (eventually!) at the end of Saturday, leaving your easel ready to start again on the Sunday. And that’s when the fun starts! You will be able to try something a little different, watch a demonstration of how to handle perspectives and use limited palettes, as well as gleaning some tips from your tutor, who loves to share his experience and knowledge with his students.
The purpose of these workshops is to help each individual to develop their own pastel painting style, using their own choice of subject. They cater for raw beginners as well as those with experience of this most exciting and forgiving of mediums.
Art Spectrum Pastel Paper and Pastel Mat will be available at a discounted price, but please bring along a firm favourite if you have one.
Following confirmation with the payment for your booking(s), we will give you our mobile phone number, which we would be very grateful if you could use, if you are unable to attend at short notice (i.e on the Saturday/Sunday morning). We then do not have to worry about your absence, and may be able to fill your space. Emails or calls to home may not be picked up before we leave to set up. We are happy to refund places paid for and not taken up, if someone on the waiting list can come along at short notice, provided there is a full session of 9 students.
These weekend workshops have come about as a result of popular demand, but they also cater for individuals who prefer to come for one day only, either the Saturday or the Sunday. The sessions will be limited to 8 students, giving Keith the opportunity to give more one-to-one attention and tuition. Over the weekend you will have lots of guidance and encouragement which will result in some very fulfilling work.
Single day £40
Please do not send any enrolments until you have spoken with Keith.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided, but please bring your own lunch (on Sundays). Excellent café available on Saturdays.
Maximum 8 students per session
