If you can roll out pastry or use a craft knife - you can do this class! Make a truly unique keepsake for less than the cost of a piece of jewellery on the High Street. * easy * social * fun * eco-friendly * Making jewellery doesn’t have to be difficult, all abilities are welcome at this fun pre-Christmas workshop. Treat yourself (or a loved one) to a unique keepsake made from pure fine silver.
Metal Clay is eco-friendly - made with recycled silver and using organic binders. It is also hypoallergenic, making your creation kind to the skin as well as the environment. This is a relatively new and exciting method in the long history of jewellery making - it’s the “friendly” alternative to traditional silversmithing. Many other skills cross over to metal clay projects (pottery, sugarcraft, decoupage etc.) - making it accessible to hobbyists and craftspeople alike. Don’t worry if you’re “not creative”, there are lots of simple templates to follow. Just bring some ideas and you’ll take home either a pendant or set of dangly earrings at the end of the class.
Your tutor is Steph Pillinger, BA (Hons) Restoration and Decorative Studies - First Class, an internationally selling mixed-media artist, specialising in metal clay, gilding and decorative effects.
