Colour…Do you love colour?…Do you know about it and how to use it?…Where to begin with it ?…How to make it work for you?
If you want to know more, come and join me for a fun 2 day workshop where we will immerse ourselves in the world of colour.
On this course, through a range of painting activities, you will learn:
• How to mix an array of colours from a limited palette of red/blue/yellow and white.
• How to darken colours (without black!).
• How to mix beautiful coloured greys or neutrals.
• How to get the right values in your colours.
• How to mix the exact colour you want…how to control colour…and more!
We will also look at the work of other artists such as Matisse, Paul Klee and Morandi etc…to understand the power of colour and to inspire us in our own work. By the end of the course you will have an understanding of basic colour theory, and a foundation of colour skills on which to develop your own creative painting/textiles/printmaking/graphics or craft skills.
On the Saturday you will be able to enjoy food and drink from the café at Harbour House. On Sunday you will need to bring your own food and refreshments.
Over the years Belinda has taught a wide range of classes to all ages, in groups and privately. Previously she has worked for Plymouth Adult and Community Learning teaching Oil Painting and Life Drawing. For the last 6 years she has been teaching popular classes in oil painting, drawing and running a children’s art club at Ilminster Art Centre. Now back in the South Hams, Belinda has a studio with Red Pod Studios at the Clay Factory and is looking forward to teaching at Harbour House.
